چکیده

Biochemical methane potential (BMP) tests were conducted for investigating the effects of alfalfa-derived biochar (AF-BC) on anaerobic digestion (AD) dairy manure under various loading AF-BC (0–10 g/L). BMP performed at mesophilic temperature (37 °C) with addition AF-BC. Biogas and volumes concentrations, water quality parameters (i.e., COD (chemical oxygen demand)), volatile fatty acids (VFAs) measured during AD process. The 1 5 g/L increased biogas yields by 15.51% 26.09% 14.61% 26.88% compared control without Additionally, (1–10 g/L) decreased lag phase 7.14–22.45% CO2 content 13.60–32.48%, while increasing removal efficiency 19.19–35.94% in manure. Moreover, also total VFAs acetic acid concentrations increase performance was mainly owing to improvement buffering ability system direct interspecies electron transfer (DIET) among microorganisms resulting from In contrast, 10 did not show any obvious manure, possibly because toxic excessive toward microorganisms. Therefore, this study supported practical feasibility AF-BC-enhanced

Anaerobic Digestion of Flushed Dairy Manure

In Florida, dairies use water extensively for barn flushing and waste collection, because it is sanitary and less labor-intensive. However, the practice of hydraulic flushing results in greatly increased volumes of dilute wastewater. In addition, many dairies have incorporated fan and sprinkler cooling systems for cow comfort in the warm Florida climate, which contributes even more water to the...

Anaerobic digestion of dairy manure with enhanced ammonia removal.

Poor ammonia-nitrogen removal in methanogenic anaerobic reactors digesting animal manure has been reported as an important disadvantage of anaerobic digestion (AD) in several studies. Development of anaerobic processes that are capable of producing reduced ammonia-nitrogen levels in their effluent is one of the areas where further research must be pursued if AD technology is to be made more eff...

Anaerobic Co-digestion of Dairy Manure with Potato Waste

In this study, anaerobic co-digestion of dairy manure (DM) and potato waste (PW) was evaluated to determine the best mixing ratio in terms of biogas and methane (CH4) productions. Batch lab-scale anaerobic co-digestion of DM with PW was conducted at two different temperature ranges [mesophilic (MT) (35-37 oC) and thermophilic (TT) (55-57 oC)]. The tests were conducted at five DM:PW mixing ratio...

Effects of dairy manure and corn stover co-digestion on anaerobic microbes and corresponding digestion performance.

This study investigated the effects of corn stover as a supplemental feed on anaerobic digestion of dairy manure under different hydraulic retention times (HRT). The results elucidated that both HRT and corn stover supplement significantly influenced microbial community and corresponding anaerobic digestion performance. The highest biogas production of 497 mL per gram total solid loading per da...
